Emergencies, accidents, and illnesses are unfortunate facts of life, but how many of us plan for the unthinkable before it happens? What would you do if your pet were suddenly sick or injured? Do you have a plan? Do you know where to go for help if your pet needed critical care or had to be hospitalized? Please note that, due to the nature of emergencies themselves, we cannot accept appointments for these services - the emergency department is walk-in only.

10000000% recommend this place! I took my dog here for an unexpected surgery and the whole staff is so nice and reassuring and Dr. Jha is the best surgeon I could’ve taken my dog to. They really take their time to walk you through anything and everything and didn’t mind the millions of questions I was asking, which is such a refresher from other vets I’ve taken her to who are always rushed and don’t care to answer any questions. Every single thing they recommended was helpful and I could tell they really cared about my dog’s well being. Could not be happier with this place and I would definitely recommend it everyone.
I definitely recommend this place. My pup had an emergency in the middle of the night and every other clinic I called said they didn't have any room for my guy. I was upset, emotional and very worried by the time I called this place. The person who answered (I feel bad because I cant remember her name for the life of me even though she was awesome) was so comforting and understanding. Dr. Millington explained things simply and assured me my little dude would be okay. It was quick, professional and fairly priced for the service that was provided. I hope no one ever has a middle of the night pet emergency, but I feel much more safe knowing there is somewhere to go, just in case.
Great experience with the Pet Specialists of Austin! My girlfriend and I went the day after they opened after her puppy got super sick with digestive issues. They were very responsive to seeing her, getting her treated, and communicating with us all the details. She ended up staying the night and was given fluids through an IV, as well as prescribed some antibiotics. She came home the next day, doing much better (on a soft foods diet)! The price of everything was much more reasonable than expected as well. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place for their great work and the price. Also, the central location makes it easy to get to!
We rushed here with my 15 year old silky terrier after midnight knowing that something was wrong. They took Luna in immediately, and gave us the prognosis, options and explained everything with such clarity and compassion. Dr.Hartmann, I truly hope you read this, you were such a great comfort at my dear Luna's end. Thank you for guiding us to the most humane and loving option. Without y'all I do not think I would feel at peace as much as I do. My heart is broken but I'm so thankful for y'all being so close, readily available and compassionate. You settled my fears, were so accommodating and I know she is resting easy now.
